I've started a Facebook group!

Hey everyone,

I have a quick but exciting update for you this week. I've started a Facebook group and would LOVE for you to join!

It's called "The 9-5 Escape Project," and my plan is for it to be a place where we can gather to encourage and learn from each other as we journey to build side hustles and lifestyle businesses and, for some of you, create a path out of the 9-5. Even if you don't have an active side hustle, I would love you to be a part of it!

One of the challenges with the newsletter is that it doesn't build community. I've gotten to know several of you through email, which is wonderful, but having a place where we can support each other by sharing successes, discussing ideas, and asking questions is a logical next step. (The newsletter will continue!)

Here's a link to join the Facebook group. It just launched a few days ago — here's a screenshot so you know what to look for:

I can't wait to see you there!! : )

❤️

Hey everyone! I recently had the opportunity to share my solopreneurship story with Andy Hill on the Marriage, Kids, and Money podcast. You feel completely stuck in your corporate job and can't find a way out. You like your job, but dream of living the "laptop lifestyle". You're struggling to come up with a good side hustle idea....

July 2016. The sun, almost directly overhead, was beating down hard. I could feel the sweat gathering on my forehead, and I hadn’t even hit the stage yet. My black button-down and dark jeans weren’t helping. My bandmates and I stood backstage — if you could call it that — it was a white tent tucked stage right. Security and staff buzzed around, focused on their tasks. At least we had cold water. After about 30 minutes, the signal came. The five of us climbed the stairs and stepped onto the...

Hey everyone! A quick thought for today... The dream isn't a business. Most people think they want a business, but what they actually want is a life. A life where they wake up excited. Where they choose how to spend their time. Where they work because they want to, not because they have to. A business is just a tool. The life is the goal. What are you designing — a business or a life? Best, Colin _________________________ 🚀 Ready to take action? Here’s how we can connect: → Join the...
